What a weekend! Great match ups and awesome performances from familiar athletes and new athletes that we all know and appreciate. We can't say enough how much we appreciate all of the athletes efforts because we know how much it takes to prepare to get ready for games... lots of sacrifice and commitment.
Filipinas vs Omaha Night Hawks
Under manned and under sized, the Omaha Night Hawks gave all they had for 3 quarters before they eventually ran out of steam. Filipinas had a full bench and they used it to their advantage. Filipinas applied pressure and created turnovers for easy buckets. Filipinas improved to 2-0.
Dragons vs SF Warriors
Welcome back DRAGONS! We miss these guys. Not only are they great athletes but better people! They were missing a few key players in Joey Salgado and Darylle Canlas but they wanted to prove with or without them they were still a good team. SF Warriors got off to a rough start. The Dragons lead by 18 points before the SF Warriors went on a run and cut the lead to 10. SF Warriors are resilient and always play hard no matter who they play... my kind of team. The Dragons half court execution and high shooting percentage eventually proved to be the winning factor and helped put the Dragons in the winning circle.
ATR vs Meier Company
The Defending Champs, ATR, looked to get back on the winning track against a young and athletic Meier Company. From the jump, great basketball plays and high basketball IQ was displayed by both teams. A full four quarters of competitive basketball. Meier Company took advantage of ATR's turnovers and missed baskets in the fourth quarter. Like Champs ATR fought till the very end but the Meier Company's team work led them to their second win of the season. Meier Company improved to 2-0.
Primetime vs Code Green
Welcome back PRIMETIME! Primetime has a new look with only three players from last season returned: Alex, Marlowe and Marco. Coach Elco surrounded his core players with great shooters, passers and athletic players. Code Green also picked up some great players to compliment Jason and AJ. Primetime did what Primetime do and that is play defense and run, run and run. The game got physical but all the players pushed through it. Code Green managed go on a few runs but Primetime's new players hustle proved to be to be the difference in the game.
