We were browsing our YouTube Community Data and we were pleasantly surprised that views from around the world has increased in the last two weeks.  We appreciate that the world is tuning in on what's going on in our part of the world.  We are fortunate that we have great teams with great players!  We know how much goes into your preparation.  We are humbled by your commitment and the sacrifices that you all have to make to play for U2SP Basketball.  We are fortunate to have all of you every Sunday.  Stay healthy!

Week 3 D League S2 Summary

This week was a like a roller coaster ride.  It had it's ups and downs but at the end of the day, basketball greatness was on display.  We had great performances from individuals and amazing team play from just about every team this past Sunday.

***Before proceeding forward I would like to reemphasize that it is important that we follow rules.  ONLY Coaches and Team Captains can question official calls.  We cannot continue to have every player approach the officials on every call they feel is questionable.  All Coaches and Team Captains are responsible for controlling their players.  No matter what you think of a call you MUST NOT LOSE CONTROL and BLATANTLY DISRESPECT ANY OF OUR OFFICIALS.  

Lastly, if you are not a player or THE coach, you cannot be at the team bench.  Coaches and Team Captains are responsible for implementing all of these simple and fair rules.  We will no longer tolerate VIOLATIONS and we will SUSPEND players or teams fairly.  Let's enjoy playing basketball and display our passion for the sport in a dignified and respectful manner.  A lot of work and sacrifice have been made to get U2SP Basketball where it is today and we cannot let one or a few incidences dismantle what we work so hard to develop.

SF Warriors vs Meier Co.

Fireworks were set off in this game.  SF Warriors made their last line up adjustment and added the needed size to compete the rest of the season.  The "All in the Family Team" showed how much they enjoy playing with one another and made it tough for Meier Co. early on in the game until Joven decide to light his first bomb that set off a streak of four consecutive threes at one point leading Meier Co. to be the first team to reach 3 wins.

Code Green vs Spartans

What a great game... from the toss of the ball it was action packed.  The game was close and the lead flipped and flopped but never extended beyond 5 points.  The Spartans, Sergio, set the pace for his team by hitting his first 3 shots.  With the addition of Noel, Code Green flourished under his leadership and Jason got the touches he needed to keep the game close.  The Spartans picked up the pace defensively and caused key turnovers that were converted into points at the line.  The Spartans improved to 2-0.

Primetime vs Bula

The Game of the Week!  We had two marquee teams going head to head with great head to head individual match ups.  The one we were closely watching was Bula's VJ and Primetime's Marlowe, two outstanding point guards and leaders for their teams.  The fourth quarter is where the two stars collided with Marlowe scoring 13 of 14 points and hitting a clutch three that put his team up by one with 14 seconds left. VJ had enough time to work his magic and with seconds on the clock left hit a fade away shot in the paint for the game winner finishing the game with 35 points!  This may go down as the game of the year.  Make sure to put this game on your YouTube favorites.  An Amazing game!

ATR vs Omaha Night Hawks

ATR, the defending Champs, were looking to get back on to the winning track but they had to beat a hungry, young and restless Omaha Night Hawks who also are looking for their first win of season 2.  ATR finally got their uniforms and it might have served as a tool to get them to not only look like a team but play like a Championship Team.  ATR came out firing and Deejay was in rare form leading his team out front in double digits by the 1st quarter.  Omaha Night Hawks would not go down and without a fight.   Derek and Kevin for Omaha Night Hawks were stroking it from behind the arc while Darren finished at the rim with dishes coming from their team captain, Aaron, finishing the game with 6 assists.  ATR are now back on the winning track and hope to put a string of wins together back to the top of the standings.

Meet the D League S2 Teams and Players

U2SP Basketball is really about people... people who love basketball.... people who appreciate other people that love basketball... people who appreciate their community... people who make sacrifices to make U2SP Basketball a part of their lives even for just an hour or two.  For that we are grateful and humble to have the opportunity to serve you.  Thank you for your consideration!

We would like to thank Maganda Productionz for providing these great individual team and game pictures.  If your team has not taken pictures yet we will try to have them come back sometime in the season.

ATR

ATR are the Season 1 D League Champions.  ATR are a great combination of size, speed, toughness and high basketball IQ.  They have the Season 1 Co MVP, William L., and the Finals MVP, Jun G. to lead them back to the Finals this season.  We will update their pictures once they get their new uniforms.

Spartans

Spartans were the runner up for Season 1.  Runner up?  Who says that right?  The Spartans made it to the Finals and had a great season 1.  Young, fast and crazy good.  The Spartans are looking to run and gun all the way to the BIG DANCE again.  *All of the players are not pictured here*

Dragons

The Dragons are a high octane team with great shooting, rebounding and excellent teamwork.  They have the Season 1 Co MVP and Leading Scorer, Joey Salgado, to blaze the Dragons to the top of the Division and to the Finals.  These are older pictures of them.  We will have update pictures of them soon. *Team Captain Robert Chen is not pictured*

Primetime

Primetime has reinvented themselves by adding new players that could be stars in any league in the Bay Area.  The core Primetime members remain: Alex, Marlowe and Marco.  This is going to be an exciting season for this new group. This season's Primetime is SCARY GOOD.  *We will have updated pictures of them soon*

SF Warriors

SF Warriors are one of our favorite teams in the league simply because they play their asses off every game. They are primarily a "FAMILY" team.  They just really love to play basketball together.

Bula

Bula is a scrappy, tough and exciting team this season.  With new acquisitions and a healthy VJ Santos, Bula is looking to make a serious run for the Championship!

Code Green

Code Green are looking to bounce back from a sub par Season 1.  This is a new Code Green this season.  Jason and AJ are surrounded by great players that can make amazing plays, run and shoot to help the team get back into the Playoffs. *All the players are not pictured here*

Omaha Night Hawks

This is a young and recklessly good team.  They are made up of close family and friends and hope to make an impact in the league.  Team Captain Aaron Asilo hope that his team can develop the team chemistry to rack up some W's to earn a spot in the Playoffs.

Meier Company

The Meier Company Team is basically a ridiculously talented team.  Team Captain, Nik Bautista, wants to make sure that his team shakes up the D League this season.  From top to bottom the Meier Company Team are going to be tough to beat.

Filipinas

We are so fortunate to have the Filipinas team join us this season.  They are a great blend of size, speed, toughness and unbelievable teamwork .  Team Captain, Helter Urbano, put together an amazing team.  They will surely make a serious run for the Championship this season.
